Introduction
The term encyclopedia (also spelled “encyclopaedia”) comes from the Greek words enkyklios and paideia, meaning “general educa- tion.” An encyclopedia is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “a reference work that contains information on all branches of knowledge or that treats a particular branch of knowledge in a comprehensive manner.

Robert Dilts and Judith DeLozier’s
Robert Dilts and Judith DeLozier’s partici-pation in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Pro-gramming dates back to its earliest days. Theywere part of the original group that workedwith NLP co-founders Richard Bandler andJohn Grinder at the time of its creation. BothRobert and Judith also studied personally withGregory Bateson and Milton Erickson, whowere key role models and influences in theearly formation of NLP.
Judith and Robert participated in the re-search and development underlying practicallyall of the original NLP techniques and distinc-tions (eye movements, cognitive strategies,reframing, the swish pattern, etc.). They playedkey roles in the design and implementation ofthe first NLP certification programs for Practi-tioners, Master Practitioners and Trainers. Theyare also co-authors with Grinder and Bandlerof NLP Volume I, the first definitive text on thefield of NLP, and have written and co-authorednumerous books and articles on the disciplineof NLP and its many applications. Betweenthem, Judith and Robert have more than fiftyyears combined experience in NLP
Robert and Judith have trained and con-sulted in the use of NLP all over the world, andwere co-founders with Todd and Teresa Ep- stein of NLP University in Santa Cruz in 1992.
Robert and Judith have continued to be among the most prolific developers of new NLP material, emphasizing the generative aspects of NLP and its richness as an epistemology. They are the key figures in the establishment and diffusion of Systemic NLP and NLP New Coding. Both are experts in behavioral model- ing using NLP, and have applied NLP model- ing methods to many different areas and topics, including learning, leadership, culture, cre- ativity and training. They are also committed to expanding the fundamental tools and dis- tinctions which comprise the field of NLP through the modeling process, and to making the skills of modeling more structured and accessible to others.
Encyclopedia contributor Todd Epstein ap- prenticed with Richard Bandler in the early 1980s, making fundamental contributions to the technology and applications of submodali- ties. He was a co-developer with Robert Dilts of many of the fundamental models and for- mats which are encompassed within Systemic NLP.
